Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Scholarships 2022 Application

For the fourth straight year Ancoria Insurance Public Ltd in cooperation with the Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC), the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) and YoungShip Cyprus, will grant three full scholarships for the seven subjects required to undergo the Professional Qualifying Examinations (PQE) for membership (MICS) to the ICS.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Fluency in the English language
  • Applicants must be permanent residents of Cyprus
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 20-35

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

  • Copy of ID/passport
  • Two reference letters
  • Letter of Application to include:
    • Work history
    • Academic achievements
    • Community involvement
    • Distinctions / awards / qualifications
    • Short essay “Why do I need this scholarship?”

 

An independent selection committee comprised of representatives from the CSC, the ICS, YoungShip Cyprus, and Ancoria Insurance, will review and select six applicants based on their written applications. The six finalists will undergo an interview process out of which the three successful recipients will be selected.

MAINTAINING ELIGIBILITY

Holders of the scholarship will be required to successfully complete the two subjects required for the ICS Foundation Diploma within the examination year 2022 and then complete the entire PQE within five years.
